Raymond RACINE Obituary

Published by Ottawa Citizen on May 26, 2016.
RACINE, Raymond
1960 - 2016
After a long heroic battle, our dear brother Raymond (Jean Stanislas) is no longer suffering. He journeyed home May 23, 2016. Born May 28, 1960 in Sturgeon Falls to the late Jean Paul and the late Anne Mary (Gosson) Racine. Predeceased by his younger brother Jean Paul Jr and his wife Patricia (Brunette) both of heaven. Outnumbered and loved to pieces by his sisters Louise Dubyk (Bernie Thorne) Oshawa, Chris Baker (Graham) Chisholm, Monique Racine of Bowmanville, Stephanie Thomas (Shawn) of Bowmanville and honorary sister Steph Van Doleweerd (Greg Wotten) of North Bay. The family is so grateful to his partner Mary Carter for the love, laughter, support and care she gave to Ray. Everyone who knew them could see how happy they made each other. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies especially his dog Sandy. Ray was a superhero to all his friends and family and will be especially missed by his nephew, nieces, great- nephews and nieces, Aunts, Uncles, his Godmother Jenny Navid and many cousins. A special thanks to Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Peters, Dr. Gertler and teams as well as the doctors nurses and staff of the Ottawa General Hospital-5E Oncology. Father Roman's spiritual support was of great comfort to Ray and family. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at Hope Cemetery 4660 Bank St, Ottawa on Saturday, May 28, visitation at 12:00 p.m. service at 1 p.m. Ray will be returned to Cache Bay for a Catholic funeral at 11 a.m. St.Therese d'Avila Church on Monday, May 30 with visitation at 10 a.m. at the church. Anyone who ever met Ray loved him. He will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, his passion for driving and his teasing grin. In his words..."Ya, ya...We'll see you later kid!" In lieu of flowers donations to the Trillium Gift of Life or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

My sincere condolences to all of Ray's family. He was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. I will truly miss Ray and our many, many adventures we had throughout our long friendship together. I am so greatfull to have these times with Ray. I'll miss the talks we had almost every day, sometime about nothing at all.
I will never forget Ray, my dear friend and like now, I will think of him often and still time to time have our little talks.
No good byes for Ray, so just...see ya later kid.

Ray, the Dear Lord has taken you away from us too early. You were such a dear friend who was compassionate, caring and cherished life and never took anything or anyone for granted. We will remember your love for going out for breakfast, coffee and good old cigarettes and of course driving...you loved to drive! Now you are driving again with GOD....and looking down on us laughing. Now I will say to you....not goodbye my friend, but "See you around KID"!!! xo
