Raymond Warren Randall III

Raymond Warren Randall III was born on September 18, 1966, in Portsmouth, Virginia and was called home by the Lord on August 02, 2011, at the age of 44 in Plano, Texas. He is survived by his lovingly devoted wife, Yukiko Shimbo Randall and treasured son, Christopher Noritaka Randall, 9 years old; his parents, Raymond and Elaine Zelgiewicz; his sisters Sarah Van Loon and Jeanine Zelgiewicz; and his brother John Zelgiewicz.

He grew up in Illinois and Florida, completing most of his public school education in the latter where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class from Cape Coral High School in 1985. Ray honorably served his country in the armed services: U.S. Navy, Florida National Guard and Texas National Guard.

Ray pursued degrees in Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. He found fulfillment in this work where he was gifted by God with a talent for fixing the un-fixable. His parents realized this ability when he bought a broken homemade go-kart in seventh grade and with determination and relentless work, was not only able to get the go-kart running, but able to sell it for profit.

At the young age of seven, Ray saved his cousin from being run over by an oncoming truck. This act of kindness began a life long desire to help his fellow man. He was an active member of Free Mason Lodge where he participated in many charitable activities. Ray just had a heart for others and taught his son this important virtue.

Ray was baptized and received the sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church. He possessed an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and truth, and pursued both with an openness to new ideas and perspectives.

One of his most important quests was to find a lifelong mate with whom he could share his life and dreams and build a family. In September 1999 he encountered Mrs. Sugai, a Japanese missionary from the Dallas Unification Church. There, Ray studied life principles central to establishing a covenantal marriage. Through this fellowship, he also met his future spouse – Yukiko – who, likewise, was seeking a lifelong mate that valued a living relationship with God. They were wed in a service in Dallas that was part of the International Marriage Blessing of 400,000,000 couples (world-wide via satellite) on February 13, 2000. Two years later they were blessed anew with the birth of their precious son, Christopher. Raymond served generously on the building maintenance team of the church.

Ray believed in and looked forward to sharing everlasting life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus. He always had a good story or interesting anecdote to share with family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. Yukiko and Christopher and all of Ray's family thank those who knew him, for your prayers and expressions of love and support.
