RHODEN Mr. Raymond Harold Rhoden Sr., 77, resident of Starke, Fl. passed away early Sunday morning, May 22, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Jacksonville, Fl. where he attended the Duval County School System. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II he moved to Starke where he had resided since. He was a dredge operator for Dupont until his retirement. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Rhoden. He is survived by a son, Raymond H. Rhoden, Jr. of North Carolina, a daughter, Rhonda Lucky of Starke, Fl., a step-son, Freddie Rhoden of Starke, three sisters, Virginia Cande of Keystone Heights, Fl., Voncile Bessinger and Juanita Scott both of Starke. One brother, Harley Rhoden of Columbia, South Carolina, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the chapel of Archie Tanner Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnny Yarbrough officiating with burial in Crosby Lake Cemetery. Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (904)964-5757.
