Raymond Roewert

Raymond Roy Roewert, known to his loved ones as Ray, passed away on May 11, 2023, in Clearwater, Florida, at the age of 64. Born on April 22, 1959, in Libertyville, Illinois, Ray was the son of Richard R. Roewert and Patricia A. Mock (nee Clavey). He was preceded in death by his son who was the light of his life, John Michael Roewert, as well as his father and mother.

Raymond Roewert is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca S. Roewert (nee Morgan), whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his sisters, Jody Quinnell and Pam Ambrose, and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

After graduating from Clearwater High School, Ray embarked on a fulfilling career as a Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy. He dedicated many years of his life to serving and protecting his community, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and fellow citizens. Ray retired from his noble profession in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of selfless service.

Outside of his professional life, Ray had a passion for vintage fountain pens, photography, reading books, and music, and geology among many others. These hobbies brought him immense joy and allowed him to pursue his interests in his leisure time. He was known for his inquisitive nature and his love for acquiring knowledge in various fields. A true autodidactic and renaissance man.

In honor of Raymond Roewert's memory, contributions can be made to organizations dedicated to non-alcoholic liver disease research or cat rescue organizations. These causes were important and close to Ray's heart, and any support would be greatly appreciated.

Raymond Roy Roewert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, gentleness, generosity, dedication, and warm spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.
