Raymonde Alice "Frenchie" Huenink (née Lahousse) was called home on February 6, 2025, in Keystone Heights, Florida, at the age of 92. Born on September 4, 1932, in Vernon, Normandy Province, France, Raymonde lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and an unwavering love for family and community.

Raymonde's early years were shaped by the challenges of World War II in Normandy. She often referred to their education as having attended the "University of Survival" from 1940 to 1945. Later in life, Raymonde pursued further studies at Florida Memorial College and became a certified healthcare nurse and caregiver. Her professional journey was diverse and impactful, spanning roles as a New York Life insurance agent, realtor, healthcare assistant, home care provider, and most importantly, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Raymonde had a deep appreciation for life's simple joys. She found solace in the gardens and cherished time spent with people. A lover of the classics in music and film, Raymonde was an avid reader with an extensive book collection. The ocean held a special place in Raymonde's heart. A skilled bridge player and enthusiastic bingo participant, Raymonde enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and clubs.

A true patriot at heart, Raymonde was actively involved in the Civil Rights Movement in St. Augustine, Florida. Raymonde was an advocate for U.S. veterans and took immense pride in her American citizenship while honoring her Viking heritage. Raymonde's faith was deeply rooted in belief in Father God, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Baptized Roman Catholic, Raymonde prayed with and for anyone who shared faith in the Holy Trinity.

Raymonde is survived by her sisters Liliane Lahousse and Mayette Lahousse ; niece Olivia Kaskoutas, of France. Sons Jon Huenink; Hans Huenink and his wife Janet; Andrew Huenink; daughters Lyra Huenink, Maya Huenink, Vala Woodland, and Liliane Chapman, of the U.S.A. Baggs (USN) m.1955-d.1965, Second husband & Soul mate, Kenneth J. Huenink (USMC)m.1968-1974.

Raymonde's legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and country. It was their wish that those they leave behind go forth and do good-an enduring testament to a life well lived.
