Mrs. Rebecca Elaine Burns

Rebecca Elaine Johnson Burns passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 20th at the age of 36. She was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter. Rebecca will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her. Rebecca was born on August 16th, 1982 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Katie Manning Johnson Weaver and Terry Johnson. She moved from Moore, Oklahoma to Fort Worth, Texas in 1997 when her Mom married James Weaver and became a Texan. She graduated Azle High School in 2001. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas. She began working at Cornerstone Staffing as a recruiter shortly after graduation. Rebecca married the love of her life, Les Burns, in 2008. In March 2012, they welcomed their first child, Austin. In October 2014, they welcomed little brother, Greyson. Rebecca is preceded in death by her grandmother Virginia Manning and grandfather Elmer Manning. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Les Burns and two sons, Austin and Greyson of the home. Rebecca is survived by her mother and Dad, Katie and James Weaver. Rebecca held a special place in her heart for her cousins, in-laws and friends. She loved life and enjoyed traveling, helping people find jobs as a recruiter and she cherished her husband and two boys. She was an only child that was blessed to have a multitude of family that loved her. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 23rd at Charles W Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
