Rebecca Garrett Obituary
Rebecca was born in Lexington, Kentucky on May 12, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Robert Wilmore Garrett and Betty Francis Masters Garrett. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Moye (David), and 3 grandchildren, Lauren Moye, Charles (Stone) Moye, and Carl (Palmer) Moye.
During her adolescence, Rebecca lived with her family in Florida, Texas, and New Mexico before eventually settling in Raleigh, North Carolina. After attending art school, she worked as a graphic artist and moved to Rome, Georgia.
A local entrepreneur and small business owner for over 40 years, Rebecca was beloved by her family, friends, and community. She independently ran Rebecca's Embroidery. Rebecca cherished her customers and always endeavored to serve them with quality and kindness.
From quilting and racing cars to traveling and painting with her grandchildren, Rebecca was a skilled artist with a sharp, creative mind and sense of humor. She enjoyed exploring and sharing new concepts, mechanics, and things of beauty. She always encouraged curiosity in herself and others.
Rebecca lived an active and adventurous lifestyle. She loved the great outdoors and could often be found in her backyard beside a fire pit with her rescue pups.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as Mom, Nana, and friend.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, at 2 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Internet Miniature Pinscher Service (IMPS) in honor of Rebecca and her beloved rescue pups, Britt and Reese. Donations can be sent to: IMPS, Inc., P.O. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center Heyman Hospice Care for their compassion and kindness during this difficult time.

I just heard this news and I´m stunned. I met Rebecca over 10 years ago and we became quick friends. She was always there to help me and always shared her wisdom and knowledge when we were together. Our most recent time together was when she took pottery lessons, giving many pieces as gifts. Praying for family and friends as our worlds adjust without this sweet soul, but we have hope...we will see her again in Heaven.

Filled with the Holy Spirit and kindness to others, Rebecca was a blessing to behold. Her creativity and wit, passion and wisdom were things that made those fortunate enough to know her, marvel. She changed my life with her warm, welcoming soul. She was living scripture.

Loved Rebecca! I have the best memories as a child making art together. She was a wonderful friend to my mom. I know they have already found each other in heaven and are praying for all of us. Rest in peace Rebecca!

I am so sorry and in complete shock. I did not know Rebecca had been sick recently. She was a wonderful embroiderer and cared about her clients. My heart and prayers go out to her family whom she proudly spoke about quite often.
