Rebecca Goodnough Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 3, 2024.
Rebecca Ellen Goodnough passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 78, after a courageous battle with melanoma.

Becky was born in Charleston, West Virginia on January 26, 1946.

She was working as a telephone switch board operator in Las Vegas, Nevada when she met her Air Force stationed husband Paul Goodnough. They were married on June 4, 1967 at the base chapel.

They lived in Las Vegas for several years before settling in Winthrop, New York to raise their two daughters.

Becky and Paul enjoyed traveling to Florida for the coldest part of winter and finally settled in North Carolina as a compromise to winter travel and the long winter cold of the north country.

Becky was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Margaret (Manahan) Tury; step-father Randall Wilson; brothers, James, and John; sister, Nancy Riggs; and son-in-law Christopher Sweet.

She is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Michelle Arquiett, her husband, Derrick, and their three children, Elizabeth, Seth and Meghan; daughter Kathy Roder, her husband E. John, and their two children, Brenna and Davon; sister, Janet Bunker, ex-son-in-law Jonathan Strickland, and several nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Becky will be dearly missed and will always be in our hearts. It is comforting to know that she is in Heaven with family and friends who have passed before her. She will be laid to rest in Morningside Cemetery, Malone, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
