Rebecca Poole-Ward Obituary
Becky was born on October 3rd,1981 in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Conyers, GA. She graduated from Heritage High School and then attended Agnes Scott College, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Physics. She obtained her doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her OB/GYN residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. She delivered hundreds of babies, saved many lives, and enjoyed solving her patient's medical mysteries.
Becky experienced many health struggles throughout her life which helped form her passion for women's health. Her curiosity and questioning personality helped her solve medical problems that others dismissed. One of the highlights of medical school was the medical conference in Puerto Rico where she "stumped the professors" while presenting one of her cases, including several students from Ivy League schools.
With her limited spare time, she enjoyed shopping, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious son, Ethan. She was also a dedicated University of Georgia football fan.
She is survived by her husband Roger Lyn Ward, son Ethan Bruce Ward, parents Ben and Carolyn Poole, sister Caron Poole, brother-in-law Chris Munns, nieces Caralise Poole-Frazer and Chloe Munns, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by Sandra Garcia and family, cherished friends, who have all provided support and love after Becky relocated to Alice.
A memorial service will be held on December 1st, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in Alice, TX at the BT Church (77 N Adams Street, Alice, TX 78332). A memorial service will be held near Conyers, GA in January.
Becky supported The Purple Door organization which provides resources to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. (https://purpledoortx.org/donate/) Her family requests donations be made to The Purple Door in lieu of flowers.

Dr Rebecca Poole was the best Dr I ever had, but she wasn't just my Dr, I considered her my friend. She made sure I felt safe and cared for and truly wanted to help heal whatever issue I had. She was a Blessing in my life and I will miss her to the end of my days. Sincerely Suzanna C

I was a patient of hers, I've never had another Dr that's made me feel safer and more heard than she did. She was kind, funny, supportive and fought for me when other Drs were dimissing me. She made sure my daughter stayed alive. She will be so terribly missed by me and my little family. I'm honored to be able to say I knew her and that she was able to hold my baby girl. I will forever be grateful to her.

Rebecca was my Dr. and a friend. She always listened to any concerns, comforted my mom as she explained medical procedures. I can here her words in my head as she was excited for her new journey for her and her family. She will truly be missed. I'm so sorry for your loss, God has truly gained an angel that cared so much for her family, friends, and patients.
