Rebecca Puryear Stone

Rebecca Puryear Stone, age 97, of Gwynn, Va. died Monday, September 1,2003. Born in Mecklenberg County, Rebecca moved to Richmond in 1945 where she worked for and retired from Dun and Bradstreet, Inc. Gwynn’s Island was her home for the past 15 years and she was a member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Stone; son, W.J. "Dusty" Stone; four stepchildren and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Arleen Stone of Gwynn; granddaughter, Leandra Haynes and husband, Jay; and two great-granddaughters, Madisson and Ali Haynes, all of Mathews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 7 in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Brian Russell.
