Reece DUCHARME Obituary
Reece Joseph Ducharme passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2012 at the young age of 35. He will be forever missed by his mom Glenda, dad Troy (NE Bonnie), his older brother Blake, his twin sister Robin and especially his nieces Maya Jayne and Sadie Lynn, cousins, aunts and uncles and countless friends who loved him dearly. He will be remembered for his radiant energy, infectious smile and generous spirit. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a charitable donation be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2 at St. Gerard's, 8944 Elbow Drive S.W. A Celebration of Reece's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Palliser Hotel after the Service.

For the first time in a long time I went to Oriental Phoenix in Calgary for lunch. Although he hasn't worked there for many years I still expect to see Reece come around the corner and give me a great big hug. He was such a loving character and will always be missed. I came across Reece's birthday messages on facebook today and realized he is no longer with us...I am so sorry for his family's loss and those that loved him so dearly. I grew up with Reece on the same street in Sundance and have fond memories. I know how much you are missed.

Most of my memories of Reece are when he was a fun-loving adventurous little boy. I loved him dearly and hoped I would have a boy just like him! Although we lost touch over the past couple years, I found myself thinking of Reece on many occasions - and smiling! He always had this soft and gentle (yet mischievious)way of making everyone feel good and loved. He had the most incredible infectious smile and laughter that would light up a room. Reece was a dear friend of mine. I've known him for 17 years and he always was generous, vibrant and charming. I am very sad to hear of his passing and will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to Glenda, Robin, Blake, Troy and his entire family.

Ducharme family,
In my first year of teaching many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting and coaching Reece. Just found out today of his passing and am at a loss for words. What a wonderful boy, and have fond memories of running them in Fish Creek. Reece, Gordo, Jess, Andrea, Mike, Justin, Jodi and many others. Reece was always up for a challenge, had a priceless sense of humour, was intense, and an awesome kid all around. He was the kind of person that made me proud to be a teacher. A life cut short, but you will be forever in our thoughts, hearts, and minds. Prayers out to the Ducharme's during this trying time. Sorry that I missed his funeral but know that I am thinking of him and you at this time.

In every life, we all meet our “Most Unforgettable Character.”
Reece Ducharme is mine.
He was my supervisor, but our relationship stretched much further than that.
He was a comrade who took the time to understand the dynamics of our oilfield service operation.
You see, if the G&L Slotco companies were on a menu, the operation in Leduc would be “Meat and Potatoes.”
Down in California, we are “Fruits and Vegetables.”
Pacific Perforating is small, but Reece never treated us that way.
When he traveled south, he interacted with the employees and thanked them for their work ethic .He was impressed by the diversity of our operations and the teamwork of the staff.
He had an infectious smile and a spirit about him that was uplifting every moment you were with him. All of the staff down here endeared him.
Reece had a tough side too and he would let you know when changes and price increases needed to be made. For me, it was reassuring to know I had Reece in my corner when fighting it out with major oil companies.
The last time I saw Reece we were in Vernon, hanging out by the lake, having a grand time and enjoying Troy's fine wine. When it was time for me to leave, I said the perfunctory goodbyes to the Ducharme's and their guests, including Reece. As I was getting in the car, Reece came running up the driveway, put his arm around me and gave me a squeeze. He looked me in the eyes and said, “I love you Rog.”
I would like to be at his service today, but honestly, I couldn't say goodbye near as well as he did. “I love you Reece.” My “Most Unforgettable Character.”
