Regina Loyola Goodman KNOWLES

In her 77th year Passed away peacefully on June 8, 2014 surrounded by her best friend and groom of 55 years, Richard and their six children. A people person with a generous heart, Regina started life on the West Side of Chicago in River Forest with her parents, the late Gerald and Loyola (Mahony) Goodman, and her siblings William (Mary), Charles, and the late Geraldine Cahill. She met Richard during her years at Rosary College. Richard and Regina were married on June 13, 1959, and started a family in Oak Park, Illinois. The family started with Tim (Jeanne - fiancé), Terry (Frani), Elizabeth (Mark), Margaret (Jeff), Sarah, and Martha (Bruno). Regina was very loved by her seventeen grandchildren; Andrew, Matthew, Eleanor, Liam, Gabe, Anna, Christopher, Sam, Luke, Joshua, Sarah, Samantha, Colton, Clare, Alexandra, Bruno and Vincenzo. Playing games and creating memories with her grandchildren was a passion of Regina's. Regina was a strong pro-life and women's advocate. Her love for helping others was immeasurable. Regina and Richard loved to travel; from the Caribbean to Ireland, these trips were some of their most memorable years. The summers at Tipperary and the Ranch hold a special place in her heart. Wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law and friend, Regina was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Visitation and Mass of Celebration, St. Vincent de Paul, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, Friday, June 13, 2014. Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., and Mass of Celebration at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow at St. Vincent de Paul. Interment Epiphany Cemetery following luncheon.
