Family-Placed Obituary

REID L. FRENCH Our beloved son, brother, husband and friend, Reid L. French, passed away on September 8, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Kayla, by his side. Reid was born on July 17, 1954 in Wilmette, IL to Dona C. and the late Robert L. French. He attended High School at Glenbrook North High School. After high school he attended Roosevelt University where he graduated with honors in 1984 with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting. After graduation, Reid began his finance career with Deloitte as a Staff Accountant and also attended the University of Illinois where he obtained the distinction of a Certified Public Accountant and passed his exam on the first sitting. While in Illinois, he was also an Adjunct Professor at McHenry County College in Illinois. Ever an adventurous soul, Reid relocated to South Florida in 2001 where he was integral in the growth and success of Independent Community Bank of Tequesta, FL. He would eventually obtain the title of Senior Vice President where he oversaw all lending activities. Reid was also a dynamic and energetic member of the Jupiter / Tequesta Community. Reid lived each day of his life with great integrity exemplified by the character of a true gentleman. His life-long generosity, in both deed and spirit, was graciously shared with all who knew and loved him. He had the uncanny ability of making everyone around him feel important and special. The many lives he touched will forever be better because Reid was part of it. He was an avid cyclist and also enjoyed deep sea fishing and a variety of outdoor adventures. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; her daughters, Reyne and Kayla; his son-in-law, Jerrod; his mother, Dona French; his sister, Dorrea C. Fellman of Maine and brothers, Ryan and Ronald French of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Louis. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. Donations may be made online at www.moffitt.org or by mail at Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, P.O. Box 23827, Tampa, FL 33623-3827. It is the beginning of July, our Birthday month. I started seeing dragonflies all around which I know is your Spirit and makes me think about you SOOO MUCH lately, Reid. You were Truly such a Honorable man who was Genuinely Supportive, Kind, Funny, and Always wanting , as well Believing in the Best in people. Things have been Soo Stressful lately and changing at such a rapid pace in life. However , whenever I talk to you it Instantly Brightens my day. You WILL ALWAYS be one of the Most Special souls in my Life. Thank You for never leaving my side. Love Your Kayla

Welcome my Friend :)

"It is the will of God and Nature that these mortal bodies be laid aside, when the soul is to enter into real life; 'tis rather an embrio state, a preparation for living; a man is not completely born until he be dead: Why then should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals?" -

Thank you Reid for being my brother. Although miles physically kept us apart, it never did in our hearts. Thank you for being Tina and Stenn's incredible uncle. The will be able to live in peace about your passing knowing that their pictures sat by your chair during your life. I am truly blessed to have Bonnie (my spiritual sister). I am so happy that Bonnie and Kayla were there as you passed. Bonga would have been so proud of you, and know she will be able to tell you that herself when you see her. Take care my friend I love you very much.

Sweetheart,

We shared a "magical" journey together! During the 6 years we were together, we had the great pleasure of experiencing what most people don't get to in a lifetime. I feel blessed and honored to have shared my life with such an amazingly wise, loyal, giving, gifted and special soul! God sent you here to make this world a better place. The many lives & hearts that you touched in such a special way could be mastered by very few.

There's a universal truth that we all have to face, whether we want to or not. Everything “as we know it” eventually ends. As much as I hate endings, there are some people who are so much a part of us they'll “be with us” no matter what. It's no coincidence that you left this Earth exactly one day before the 5 year anniversary of Louis death. Knowing that you've been reunited with my son in Heaven makes my heart smile. Death is merely a “new beginning” set in a most magical place! In Heaven there's no suffering, sadness, or loneliness; what a wonderful place to look forward to.

I feel like a piece of me is missing; because it IS. There will never be another YOU, that's for sure. I can feel you watching over me, and I know you know that I love you with all my heart. When 2 souls are so connected, not even death can separate them; so I take comfort in knowing that you will always be there beside me. During moments when I'm feeling sad & alone, all I need to do is “touch my heart” and each & every one of the wonderful memories we created and shared together will be experienced two-fold.

Until we are re-united, let's continue to bask in the love & infinite light from which we were created! The light in me salutes the light in you, my love ...

Always, All Ways,
Bonnie
