IPSWICH — Rena (Siamatas) Christopher, 94, wife of the late Nicholas P. Christopher, died Wednesday night, April 2, 2008 in the Sea View Retreat in Rowley.
Born in Ipswich on Nov. 3, 1913, she was daughter of the late Peter J. and Eva (Vascilaki) Siamatas.
Mrs. Christopher was a lifelong and active member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Ipswich.
She lived in the same house that she was born and raised in for 87 years until 2000. In 2000 she moved to Merrimac Place in Newburyport where she was extremely well cared for and loved by the staff there.
Mrs. Christopher was formerly employed at Sylvania in Ipswich for many years, later she was employed for many years as well at Stride Rite in Newburyport.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas on Aug. 15, 2002. Mrs. Christopher is survived by four nieces, Cathy Flores of North Miami, Fla., Debbie Kouklamanis of Beverly, Donna Hill (also a goddaughter of Mrs. Christopher) of Salisbury, and Kathleen Worster of Naples, Maine; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, James Siamatas formerly of Ipswich and George Siamatas formerly of Sampscott.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Lafayette Road, Ipswich. Burial will be in the New Highland Cemetery in Ipswich. An hour of visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich, to which relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Mrs. Christopher's name to the Greek Orthodox Church of Ipswich, P.O. Box 6, Ipswich, MA 01938.
