Rena Nelson

Rena Nelson, 81, of Upton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Born and raised in Upton, a daughter of the late George C. and Valida I. (Demers) Nelson, she was a graduate of Grafton High School and had lived in the greater Milford area before returning to Upton 35 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish. She leaves one daughter Joanne King and her husband Steven of Hopkinton; her sister Winona Bouthiette of Upton; a brother, Albert Nelson of Woonsocket, RI; one granddaughter Kelly Riel of Dartmouth; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary King and Morgan Riel. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jason King; two brothers, Gerry and Ted Demers; and a sister Nina Thornhill. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. A calling hour at the funeral home will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass on Thursday.
