RIP Dr. Menguy, and thank you for giving me my life back. To me, a selfless individual caring for me in several emergency situations. A long life well deserved. My condolences to his loved ones.

I met Dr. Menguy at Genesse Hospital in the early 80's as a frightened young adult facing what was to be my first of many surgeries by Dr. Menguy. He could appear to many, stern and a bit intimidating but he was so kind to me. We built a great repore over the years, I grew to adore him and was so sad when he decided to retire. What a gifted surgeon he was, just the way his hands moved when even examining you. Dr. Menguy, thank you, you have left such a legacy!!! May you rest in peace

As a graduate of the University of Chicago, I was always very proud of his affiliation - but I was most honored to have trained under him at the University of Rochester at the Genesse Hospital. There I learned surgical techniques that I still employ today. I learned more watching him operate than by doing the operation under another attending's watch. He was a great surgeon and he was actually a very kind man. Behind his outward appearing stern was a caring and considerate human being. RIP Professor Menguy. You will always be remembered in my thoughts. John Fung, MD, PhD

Dr Rene Menguy was my former partner and teacher. He was a gifted surgeon, and I learned a tremendous amount of technical surgery from him. I have many fond memories from our time together at The Genessee hospital. It has been many years since we have spoken. May he rest in peace.
