In loving memory of Rene Recio Vera

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rene Recio Vera on the evening of December 25, 2024, at the age of 76, after a long and courageous battle with cardiac and pulmonary complications. Rene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and most of all a friend to so many. Born November 27, 1948, in Falfurrias, Texas, Rene lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Rene was a man of great integrity and kindness, known for his warm smile and generous spirit. Throughout his life, he influenced the hearts of many with his selfless acts and unwavering support. He was a pillar of strength for his family, always offering guidance and wisdom.

Rene pursued a career in the oil field, specializing in welding services, operating heavy equipment, and owning Vera's Lease Service. He made significant contributions to the industry and community and earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His passion for competitive shooting, hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and barbecuing his famous steaks was evident to all who knew him. He found joy in sharing these interests with those around him.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Luis M. Vera & Santos Recio, one Brother Santonino Vera and his Grandson Tynan Chapa.

He is survived by his loving wife, Enedelia Bocanegra Vera of McAllen, Tx. Rene was a devoted father to four sons Isidro Vera (Vanessa) of Premont, Tx, Luis R. Vera (Veronica) of Premont, Tx, Flavio R. Vera (Monica) of Yuma, Arizona and Joaquin R. Vera of Corpus Christi, Tx, two daughters San Juanita "Janie" Vera-Chapa (Brian Orn) of Livingston, Tx and Anissa R. Vera of Houston, Tx and a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His legacy of love and compassion will live on through them.

Rene's life will be celebrated on December 28, 2024, at St. Theresa's Infant Jesus Church in Premont, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by words of remembrance. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:15 a.m., and burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring his memory.

Rene will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in peace, knowing that we deeply loved him and that he will never be forgotten.
