Renee Stephen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2025.
Renee Norma (Loerzel) Stephen age 81. Went to Heaven in February 2025, with her loving husband, Walter by her side. We lost a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and wonderful friend to many. Renee was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 4, 1943. She grew up in Addison, Illinois. She attended and graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1961. Renee met her husband, Walter on a blind date on May 8, 1962. They were married on May 18, 1963. They were married for 61 great years. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful children. Renee's life was defined by her love for God and His Word. Renee had the gift of hospitality and friendship. She loved welcoming people into her home, which was always a place where the neighborhood kids gathered and later her grandkids and their friends. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Burkhardt Loerzel. She is survived by her husband Walter and their children: Scott (Debbie), Bryan (Brigette) and Cindy (Bob). Renee was a devoted Grandma to 8: Bobby (Mia), Jessica, Jacob (Jen), Megan (Andrew), Joshua, Clare, Shawn, and Lily. She was also blessed with Three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 9:30am followed by a service at 11:00am at Bloomingdale Alliance Church (264 Glen Ellyn Rd, Bloomingdale, IL 60108), with a reception to follow at the church. Renee would love for everyone to celebrate her beautiful, joyful spirit. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Renee's life, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Hospital.
