Renee Thomas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 28 to Nov. 29, 2022.
Renee Ann (Shepherd) Thomas, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, departed this world on September 28, 2022. She leaves behind her daughter Kara Langham, sons Zak Thomas and Cody Lackershire (Ashley), as well as three granddaughters - Isabella, Reagan, and Amy, her mother Janet Shepherd of Santa Paula, brother Mark Shepherd (Deb), and sisters Jill Shepherd-Fuhr and Melanie Howard, and nephews R.J. Fuhr, Winston Howard, Alex Howard and niece Marisa Howard. Renee now joins her previously departed sister Donette Lee and brother Jeff Shepherd.

Renee was born on July 17, 1958 in Washington DC, and spent her childhood in Southern Maryland, exploring the woods she named "Stickerland" in her family's back yard. After stops in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Virginia, she eventually followed her close-knit family and settled in Southern California.

A lifelong fascination with the medical field began when as a small child she wished for a toy doctor kit for Christmas, followed by countless hours studying the family medical guide as a young girl. Renee earned her CNA degree and spent the rest of her life taking care of the medical needs of her loved ones and her clients.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening and the outdoors, and being with her family, but most of all - she loved being a mother and grandmother. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Miss you, sister! I will always treasure memories of us in the kitchen on holidays, and me doing my best to not have a marshmallow overflow in the oven! Miss laughing with you so much.
