Martha S. Gonzalez entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Edinburg, Texas at the age of 72. She was born on May 21, 1943 to Manuel Saenz and Manuela Garcia Saenz in Falfurrias, Texas. Martha was a Kindergarten Teacher with Rio Grande ISD for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic who was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. As Martha entered into the gates of Heaven, she was reunited with her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Hector Gonzalez of McAllen, Texas; son, Hector Manuel (Yolanda) Gonzalez of Mission, Texas; daughter, Celina (Melvin) Mireles of Buda, Texas; two brothers, Oscar (Maria Imelda) Saenz and Johnny (Guadalupe) Saenz both of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Mary (Sergio) Garza of Hebbronville, Texas and Mirta Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Lee Gonzalez, Andrea Nicole Gonzalez, Angela Marie Gonzalez, Michael Mireles and Marcos Mireles and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Burial will follow at the Palito Blanco Cemetery.
