Renita Price Obituary
Lousiville - Renita Durham Price, M.D., of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Baptist Health Louisville, just a few days of turning 65.
She was born January 16, 1956 in Yosemite, KY, Casey Co. an only child to John Reid Durham and Rebecca Azalea Durham.
Renita was a graduate of Middleburg High School, attended Somerset Community College, University of KY and University of Louisville School of Medicine before receiving her Doctor of Medicine. She was a Private Practice Pediatrician at Brownsboro Pediatrics, now Norton Windy Hills Pediatrics and was Board Certified in Emergency Pediatrics.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, James B. Wolff; children, Matthew Price, Margeaux Littlefield (Jon) and Marcus Price; step-children, Michael Wolff (Erin Aspatore Dunn) and Melissa Wolff; Aiden and James Wolff; Teagan and Tilly Littlefield, and Jefferson Jay "JJ" Wolff.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, all services will be private, with a Celebration of Renita's life at a later date.
In keeping with Renita's wishes, please direct memorial gifts in the form of contributions to the Home of the Innocents or Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

Renita was my friend and support in Medical school and after. She was a year ahead of me and we first met while studing in the library. I was looking forward to seeing her at this years reunion for the School of Medicine. We had lost touch over the years. I feel so sad that she is gone way to soon. She was a very special person. I just learned of Dr. Price´s passing today. I am so saddened by this news. Dr. Price was not only my children´s pediatrician (ages 12,11 and 5) but she was also my pediatrician when I was a kid. She became apart of our family and we loved our doctors visits. She went above and beyond and made it very easy to talk to her. She had an amazing soul and I send my deepest condolences to her husband, children and grandchildren.

We just booked an appointment with Dr Price for our 14yo son whom she has treated since he was a new born and learned of her passing. Saddened and will feel her loss today. A wise, wonderful, kind, compassionate and sassy soul! We will miss you.

I am just learning of Dr Price´s passing. I am truly beside myself. She was so much more than a great physician and dedicated physician but she had also become a family friend. I trusted her implicitly with my children´s care and Dr Price fought to continue to care for my Special Needs daughter well after she aged out of pediatric care . She was that vested in taking care of my daughter!! Dr. Price will always be sorely missed by our family. My sincerest and most heart felt condolences and prayers to the family.

We are deeply saddened today as we were made aware of her passing. Dr. Price saw all four of our children from birth. She was so very patient and kind. She truly was the best. Dr. Price was my pediatrician when I was a child and gratefully also my boys 10, 8, and 18 months. You don´t find doctors like her very often that take the time to learn and remember your family and care about them like she did. My 10 and 8 year old boys loved her like family and were so upset that she is no longer with us. I personally appreciated her more then she probably knew for always taking the time to listen, ask how I was doing and all of the boys by name no matter which one I was there with. She always took great care of my boys and she will be greatly missed!

I am still so saddened about this news. Dr. Price was so special to our Family. She cared for my son, had a little nickname for him, and he always loved going to visit her. Every decision regarding my son's health and safety always went through Dr. Price first and everyone knew it. It was a running joke in my family to "see what Dr. Price had to say". We absolutely adored her and she will be greatly missed. My condolences to the Family. You should be so very proud of the life she lived, full of joy, compassion and of care for others.

Dr.Price was my pediatrician as a child, and has been my daughters for the last 8 years. I remember when they painted the mural back in the 90´s. She will be truly missed. She was so kind, and patient. Brownsboro won´t be the same without her. I am so saddened by this news, my daughters always felt safe in her care.

My family loved Dr. Price. She was so easy to talk to and always had a good sense of humor. Sometimes children are scared to go to the doctor but my daughter Taylor Yuen always felt comfortable with Dr. Price and when her grandparent's would take Taylor to see her (if I had to work) my mom and dad always praised her. Our hearts are broken to hear of Dr. Price's passing. She saw each of our 4 newborns the morning after their births and continued thru present day. She has been with us thru it all. Renita and I were medical school
classmates. We, along with others, studied together and became very close with all of our families. We did activities with Renita and Greg (who passed way too early) especially UL basketball games. She was one of the best when it came to just being a friend, great listener and taking care of her patients. The UL Medical School Class of 1980 has lost another special classmate. And I see the note from Jack's daughter who was also a great classmate and person.

Renita welcomed me into medicine in the kindest way. She went to medical school with my dad, Jack Eldridge, who died when I was high school. She knew that the beginning of my medical school years would bring up all the ways he was not there. She gave me her own microscope from when she was in medical school with my father. It was the most thoughtful of gestures from someone I had never met. Renita will be missed.
