Rhea Blum Obituary
Rhea was a long-time employee at JL Hudson's at Northland Mall. Her dedication to her work was evident throughout her career.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Douglas, and her grandsons John Douglas (Angie), William Douglas, Matthew Federspiel (Tara), and Michael Federspiel. Rhea is also survived by her sister, Jane Williams, and great-grandchildren Harper, Silvio, Landon, and Charlie.
Rhea was preceded in death by her husband, George, her daughter Shelley Federspiel, her mother Evelyn Lipsky,her father, Dr. Jacob Lipsky, and birth mother Sylvia Snyder Lipsky.
Rhea's brain has been donated to Boston University, a testament to her longevity without signs of dementia. She was loved by all her family members and will be remembered for her grace and style.
No services are planned. Rhea's cremains will be interred at Sharon Gardens, New York.
May she rest in peace.

Just sitting here thinking Jim and I were talking about the old days. Rhea popped in my head...taken aback by her passing. Thought About you and me Barb going to Cedar Point with the boys then we started talking about the trips that me you and Rhea went on we had some laughs. I truly loved your mother she lived a long life and a good life and you were the best of daughters. No regrets. My deepest sympathy

Miss you mom! all the little things we talked about. the dream we had, the sandwich we ate, the kids, who called you..... i miss that so much.

I was so pleased to have been included in the celebration of Rheas 103rd Birthday a few months ago.. Such a lovely gathering of family and friends paying tribute on her special day. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of grace and love..My condolences to her daughter, Barbara, and her sons (grandchildren ) and their families and all the rest of her family and friends.. She really did lead a " life well lived" .. I hope the memories of her will be a comfort in the days to come..

In 2015, I took all four of my children on a cross-country road trip from CA, with one of our stops in Detroit to meet my Aunt Rhea and family. We all had a wonderful time and she will be missed.
