Richard Barden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2025.
Daytona Beach - The world has lost a beautiful soul far too soon. Richard "Dan" Barden, born June 27, 1962, in Lowell, MA, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 62, in Daytona Beach, FL.

Dan's journey was one marked by honor, dedication, and an unwavering sense of duty. He served in the United States Air Force for 12 years, both abroad and at home, embodying the true spirit of a patriot. His service was a testament to his love for his country and his commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. Those who knew Dan will remember him as a mentor and a guiding light. He cared about the success of others and encouraged them to reach for their dreams by sharing his experiences, wisdom and knowledge. Conversations with Dan were endless adventures; he spoke with passion and knowledge on anything from history to rebuilding an engine, and he did so with boundless enthusiasm. His laughter and humor will be missed, as well as his big heart, friendship and support.

Sadly, Dan was predeceased by his beloved partner, Cheryl Stinson, his father, Donald E. Barden, Sr., his mother, Lucille D. Barden, and his brother, Donald E. Barden, Jr. He is survived by his loving daughter, Vanessa Quinzel, and sister, Sandra Gitschier, who will continue to carry his memory forward.

We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life on June 7, 2025, at 4 PM at VFW Post 3282, located at 5810 S. Williamson Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32128. It's a time to honor the life of a man who gave so much to those he loved and to share stories of the laughter and wisdom he gifted us all.

My dear brother, your presence will be missed deeply, but you will live on in our hearts and memories always. As we bid farewell, we hold onto the words, "The song has ended, but the melody lives on..." Rest in peace.

To everyone who has offered prayers and support during this time, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. We request in lieu of flowers, please send donation to St. Jude’s in honor of him.

My brother, my friend, I miss you so much. I will always remember the wonderful brother your were to me. You pushed me through those college doors, you believed in me. I will never be able to thank you enough for all you brought to my life. You were a good man, son, father and friend to many. I so admired you and was so proud to say you were my big brother.
