Richard W. Bauer

Richard "Dick" William Bauer, age 93, passed away Thursday June 26, 2025 at Mira Vie Assisted Living at Chelsea in Belvidere, New Jersey, where he had been living for the past 4 years. Prior to his move to Belvidere, he made his home in Nazareth, PA.

He was born on August 28, 1931, in Bethlehem, PA to Herbert H.K. and Romaine (Graver) Bauer. Shortly thereafter, his family made their home in Chapman Quarries, PA.

Dick left high school to enlist in the United States Armed Forces. He began his service in 1949 as a Medical Technician during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1955 from his longtime station of Osaka, Japan. Dick very proudly earned his high school GED in 1984.

He was an employee of the former St. Regis Paper Company and then Hercules Cement, both in Nazareth, until his retirement. He was an active member of The International Paperworkers Union while at St. Regis. He attended Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Moore Township, PA. He was an avid coin collector and truly enjoyed sitting on his porch, but Dick loved nothing more than being a Pappy to his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first ex-wife, Nancy (Gruver) B. Crivellaro, his second ex-wife, Myrtle "Mitzi" Balliet, his sisters, Clara Haydt, and Shirley Hoadley, niece Denise Haydt Evans and great-nephew Curtis Evans.

Dick is survived by his most beloved treasures, his daughters, Julia "Jewels" Quelly (Peter) of Washington, NJ and Audrey Bauer, M.D. (Jeff Amsler) of Denver, CO, stepdaughter Carol (Fenstermaker) Mitchel (Alvin) of Amboy, Indiana and grandchildren, P. Isaac Quelly-Bersier (Lucas) of Philadelphia, PA, Emilia "Millie" Quelly of Washington, NJ, and Aspen Bolanowski, and Ray Bolanowski, both of Denver, CO. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Herbert H.K. Bauer, Sr. of Whitehall, PA, along with several nieces and nephews.
