Mr. Bligh was a teacher of mine at Donahue school. He made school worth attending by always smiling and cheering his students on. I remember a classmate (Victor), and I challenged him to a handball tournament. So, during lunch, Victor and I meet Mr. Bligh in the gym. Victor and I were pretty good as we played handball with our friends after school. We grew up in south Holyoke, so many buildings and park walls were played against. I played Mr. Bligh first, and I´ll say he did not hold back, lol. I lost by a landslide. Victor was up next. It was intense watching them play as it was back and forth to the end. When I thought Victor would win, Mr. Bligh pulled through and shut him down. When I drive by Donahue, I can still hear his voice and the clack of the ball against the wall. It was things like this that made Mr. Bligh who he was. He always looked out for his students´ well-being and ensured they were included in everything. We were so grateful to have a teacher like him in our lives. We could not ask for a better role model. Thank you for many years of wonderful memories. Please know he was loved by all and will be missed very much.

Rick was an exceptional human being. He touched everyone he met with warmth and joy . As his anniversary of passing gets close, we will remember him fondly. Joanne, don't be sad. You had a short, but wonderful, loving, relationship. He will always remain with you in your heart. RIP, dear friend.

It's been almost a year and I still can't talk about losing Batman. Bumped into a former student's mother recently and after exchanging pleasantries, she brought up your passing. I told her I was not ready to talk about it.

I can't believe it. When Mrs. Kareta passed away it hurt so much but now you, I just can't comprehend this right now. My two favorite teachers from McMahon School. You both had taught me so much. Made my days better sometimes. Never gave up on me as your student. I remember all the times you would joke around with the whole class. Being a goofball as always. Met Rick my first year teaching at Donahue back in 1988 and had the pleasure to work with him while at Peck as well. Rick always and a great energy and was loved by his students and colleagues. Condolences to his family.

So sad to hear about Rick. I just commented on pic on fb with wife and they looked so happy. I was lucky to work with Rick when I first started in Holyoke and he helped me to stay positive. He taught me to not take myself so seriously. He was such a great guy and so helpful to all lucky enough to know him. I'm sure he has a special place in heaven. RIP Rick.
