April 1, 1937 - January 16, 2022
Wichita, Kansas - Richard "Dick" Borchard, 84, went home to be with Jesus on January 16, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Betty, his brother Daryl (Yvonne) Borchard, daughter, Pamela (Steve) Nye, son, Michael (Christina) Borchard, of Wichita, KS, daughter, Marcie Borchard, of Palm Desert, CA, and son, Jon (Kimberly) Borchard, of Minneola, KS, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, January 21, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N Greenwich Rd. A reception will be held after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would recommend memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour Ministries, Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, or The Navigators. So many wonderful memories of your family. Dick was such a positive and wonderful person, and one of the few friends of dad that I wasn't afraid of! : ) Dick and Betty were such an awesome team and example of a great marriage. I send blessings your way and I know you will all treasure his memories.

Betty and family, my heart goes out to you all. Dick was always a great smile to see at Holy Cross and had a loving way to challenge people to be better. It was clear that he loved Jesus and he was called by God.

Betty, Pam, Mike, Marcie and Jon... my sympathies for your loss.
As some of you know, I've known Dick for several decades. He was one of the warmest, most Christian people I believe I have ever met. He always greeted me with a warm smile and a handshake and he never failed to share his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior if the opportunity arose.
He was an amazing man, a very admirable role model and, as such, will be missed by a great many people.
