Nancy:
We were having a happy hour with Bud and Nancy Boyd today when we heard the awful news that Rik had passed away. We then began to reminisce about the good times we had with you and Rik at Canyon Point. Rik was a great asset to our complex because he willingly would fix anything either in or outside of the owners' units. We also talked about the parrots that called out from your deck and made us think we were in the jungle somewhere. Of course, his love of cars came up and we remembered how devoted he was to the reconstruction of a black beauty (we couldn't recall the make and year).
When you two left and moved on there was a huge void at our complex. We still miss you both and we are very saddened that we won't see Rik again. We are so very pleased that you came to our 10th anniversary function. That was the last time we were together and we remember the fun time we had at that event.
Amaryllis and I want you to know that we are thinking of you and we know how much you are missing your dear husband and friend, Rik.
Bud and Nancy also wish to express their condolences on the loss of Rik.

Rik came into my life last year and has forever, change my view of life. He and Nancy were exceptional and gracious to myself and husband. He handled his health with strenght and always looked, on the up-side,when we meet last April 2007. We had the privaledge of going on tour with them in their area and one highlight was our road trip ,to Kettle Valley Railway in Summerland. Just to meet Rik's friends and spend some time together was great!!! We toured the railway site and had the privaledge of meeting ,his long time friend Ron Restrick and the staff at the historic railway site. It for us ,from Nova Scotia was a real glimpse ,of Rik's passion for trains and I was so proud ,to be ,up on the engin and took some great photos while there, having a visit. I signed on ,as a member and he certainly work with some Great people, in his railway life. We had some great phone chats when ,he felt good. He had a positive way of looking at life, oh!!he probably was fisty ,with his health ,taking , a toll on him and he and Nancy have been through alot since ,the time ,we ,1st met. Special Thanks to Nancy and her sister, Janet and Jeff and others, for all the support ,to keep him ,trying to fight that long battle with his cancer. He would have both good and bad days but through it all Nancy- God Bless ,her , she was his lifeline to all his needs and gave him all the support , he needed. I personally ,want to Thank, her for taking, such fantastic care of Rik,always, there beside him with unconditional Love. He was extremely Lucky ,to have you ,in his life, Nancy!!! for sure. Now that Rik is no longer with us ,we must cherish the memories and Live Life to the Fullest ,as the way ,he lived life ,when his health was good. I will always Love you, both and certainly cherish the friendship ,of being ,able to connect ,after so many years. Lots of Love ,from your sister, Wendy and family in Nova Scotia. Its been a wonderful journey!!! I miss you lots Rik , you'll always ,have a very Special place in my heart, and Nancy take care of yourself . I think ,the World of You and Love You Lots!!!
