Richard Cervantes, 57, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his residence in Iowa Park, Texas.
The family will receive family and friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Richard was born on June 8, 1965 to Lucio and Hyecha (Kim) Cervantes in Kongie, Seoul, South Korea.
Being a proud son of a Vietnam Army Veteran, Richard wanted to follow his father's footsteps of service and he dedicated 20 years of service to the State of Texas. Richard met Kimberly Martens and the couple married on February 19, 2010. Richard was full of life and enjoyed striking up conversations with just about everyone he met. He was a student of history and loved creating memories by attending his kids' activities. Richard was looking forward to passing on his love of football with his son, raising the next generation of an Oklahoma Sooners fan. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Lucio Cervantes
Richard leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Cervantes of Iowa Park; five daughters: Isabella Cervantes of Wichita Falls, Jaycika Martens, Kaylian Martens, Haydince Cervantes, Layloni Cervantes; and a son, Lucio Cervantes all from Iowa Park; mother, Hyecha Cervantes of Wichita Falls; and brother, Johnny Cervantes and wife, Rhonda of Wichita Falls; and many other loved family and friends.

I had the chance to meet Richard through activities at Iowa Park with Kaylian and my daughters being friends. I don't think I saw him without a smile on his face or willing to help out in concession rather a school dance or sport event. We are thinking of you during this time and will be here with anything you need to support your family.

Richard was an absolutely incredible man and mentor. His light was so bright and his smile would instantly make my day a lot better. He will be forever missed. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. Fly high sweet angel.

He was such a friendly, kind man. I always appreciated him being a parent volunteer for each daughter when they went through Bradford.
My deepest condolences for all of you!!
