Richard A. Coe, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Tide Well Hospice-Palliative Care in Bradenton FL. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Richard served 21 years in the US Marine Corp. retiring in 1969. He was the past owner of ABC Specialty Company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton FL, and a past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. He was the Past National Commandant, Navy Club USA; Past Commandant Marine Corps League Fort Miami Detachment; Life Member of Military Order of Devil Dogs; VFW #857; Bluejackets Assoc. American Legion Post #24, Bradenton, FL; Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #34, Department of Wisconsin, Korean War Veterans Assoc.; Member of Past National Commanders Organization, and member of Fleet Reserve Assoc., local branch #348, Fort Wayne. Surviving are his wife, Adeline L. Coe of Bradenton, FL; daughters, Julie A. Grider, Maureen L. Coleman, Terri L. Gill, and Susan Rohrs all of Fort Wayne, Rhonda S. Delamarter of Leo, son, Jay Whetsel of Bradenton, FL, daughters, Sharon France of Bradenton, FL, Candy Terrell of Columbia City, Merline Jann of Spencerville, sister, Donna Bander of Fort Wayne, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by first wife of 54 years, Shirley M Coe; parents, Arthur B. and Cecilia B Coe, daughter, Sharon M. Coe-Babbitt, and sister, Barbara Whitaker. Service is 10:30 am, Monday, October 1, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior, Pastor Steve Ensley officiating. Calling at the funeral home Sunday, September 30, 2012 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
