Dick our dear neighbor and forever friend; we dearly miss you but know that one day you will again greet us with that wonderful, happy smile of yours.
Your were the best neighbor anyone could hope for as well as a precious friend. When we first moved into our home across the street from you, you came over to introduce yourself and welcome us to the neighborhood. You also told Dennis that if he ever needed a tool, not to buy one as you probably had 3 hiding somewhere in your garage...and you usually did! LOL
We shared a lot of common interests. Dale with her jewelry making, gardening, love of rocks and sea-glass; Dennis with hunting, fishing, fixing things around the house and silly "dad" jokes. We shared other things to: your middle name is Dale and your birthday is a day before hers AND your wedding anniversary is a day before ours. Seems you kept one step ahead of us!
After moving to Mandeville we so missed seeing your garage door open almost everyday with you in there fiddling around with some project, or outside in your yard gardening. We also missed sharing our vegetable plants and the fruit from them. Plus Dennis had to start buying his own tools! We were so happy to be able to visit with you these last few years, even though you had moved, and as usual you were a great host.
We felt more like family than neighbors or friends. We will miss you, Mary and Caren. You will each be forever in our hearts.
With much love and gratitude,
Dennis and Dale Downs

Mike,
My deepest condolences. My prayers are with you. While you will miss your dad dearly, you will also take comfort he is in the arms of his Savior.
