Richard W. "Bucko, Spanky" Denney

Richard W. “Spanky” “Bucko” Denney, 70 years old, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls on February 12, 1938, the son of the late Richard H. and Catharine (Collins) Denney. Mr. Denney attended local schools. He worked as an Assistant Produce Manager at the former A and P Supermarket and Slipko Brothers and, finally, at Tops Supermarket on Portage Road, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards and watching baseball and football. Mr. Denney is survived by his brother, Joseph Denny of Niagara Falls; his sisters, Mary St. Pierre of Atlanta, GA and Justine McKenna of Niagara Falls and his sister-in-law, Sarah Denney of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Tammy (Arthur) Curcione, Norman (Gina) McKenna, Dawn Rilko; several great-nieces and great-nephews and Bob Rilko. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edwin Denney and Johnny Denney and his sister, Margaret “Aunt DoDo” Denney.Friends may call on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
