Richard DOUGHTY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that the Doughty family announces the passing of Richard (Dick) Doughty. After a hard fight with deteriorating health, Dick passed peacefully surrounded by family on March 2, 2023 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Dick is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years Lynne, his children Ryan and Jenn, Shannon and Daryl, Jesse and Rachel and his grandchildren that he loved unconditionally Ava, Olivia, and Logan. He was a loving brother to Bob Doughty, as well as a brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Dick left a lasting impression on anyone that was lucky enough to cross his path and will be remembered for his infectious personality, carefree attitude, and love for the game of golf. His sense of humour and unforgettable smile made him the life of the party. He always put his family and friends ahead of himself and lived by the motto that growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional. Dick was an excellent example of what it meant to live life to the fullest. A celebration of life will be held on May 20, 2023, at the Collingwood Legion from 1 - 4. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dicks name can be made to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Friends may visit Dick's online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com

I was one of the many lives touched by Dick. I had the pleasure of working a Summer at Batteaux Creek Golf Course, in the kitchen. Dick was an early riser and we had many conversations while he had his breakfast. It was a pleasure knowing him. I am sorry for your loss.
