Richard Drake Obituary

Richard "Dick" Edward Drake passed away peacefully Wed. March 8, 2006 in Scottsdale, Ariz., with his family at his side. Dick was born Nov. 22, 1929 in Walla Walla, Wash. to Warren and Ruby Drake. He grew up in Boise and after his retirement lived in both Boise and Scottsdale, Ariz. until his death. Dick was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved flying his airplanes all over the Northwest and Canada. He also enjoyed traveling in his motor home. Dick was a major contributor to Boise valley in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning industry from a small boy working with his grandfather, father and brother. He started Drake Mechanical in 1978 with his two children Rick Drake and Judy Chivers. He was a member of Idaho Lodge #1 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, and belonged to El Korah Shrine Temple. He was also a past member of the NW Navioneers and several car clubs. Dick was preceded in death by his former wife Margaret, his brother Don, and his daughter in-law Kelli. He is survived by his wife Carole, his son Rick Drake, his daughter Judy Chivers and her husband John, stepson Mark Hebein and wife Donna, stepdaughter Kim Latham and husband Mark, and stepdaughter Cheri Payne. He is also survived by his brother Bob Drake and his wife Sandy, his sister Wanda Miller and her husband Clarence along with several grandchildren, a great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog Muffie. We would also like to acknowledge all of his friends from childhood to present day, and say thank you to all. So as you go to your new life know that you were loved and that we will miss you. At this time no services are planned. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to El Korah Shrine Temple Patient Travel Fund, 1118 W. Idaho, Boise, ID 83702.

I just recently learned of Dick's passing. My thoughts & prayers are with Carole, Rick & Judy, as well as the rest of the Drake Family. Dick was a wonderful man and will certainly be missed by many.

My thoughts & prayers are with Carole & the rest of the family during this difficult time. Even though I only knew Dick for 2 years, I will always treasure the great memories we shared. He was a great story teller, a wonderful father in law & I will miss him greatly. I'll always love & remember you.
