Richard DuBois Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 8, 2024.
Richard (Dick) Myron DuBois, 95, Green Bay, WI died peacefully on Dec. 7, 2024.

In his younger days, Dick loved working the land on the family farm in Luxemburg. Later in life he worked at Borden Foods where he met his future wife, Anna Peer. Dick eventually found his niche as a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed delivering the mail his last 30 working years.

Dick enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, camping, yard work, and taking home movies. After retirement Dick loved golfing and playing Sheep's Head. He also enjoyed resting in his recliner with his little Morkie, "PJ."

Because of his love of Bible truths, at 44 years old Dick was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a faithful member of the De Pere Congregation for 51 years. The congregation's love for Dick was very evident. The day before he died, over 20 congregation members came to see him in the hospital. Dick loved the Bible and sharing what he learned with others. One scripture of comfort Dick loved was Revelation 21:4, "And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, neither will death, mourning, outcry nor pain be anymore." We know Dick is safe in Jehovah God's memory. We look forward to the day when we will see him resurrected to an earthly paradise (Psalm 37:10,11).

Born on 3/14/1929 to Henry and Phoebe DuBois, Richard was the 1st of 8 children.

He was married to his wife Anna Rose (Peer) DuBois on 9-5-59. They were married for nearly 60 years until Anna's death on 11-6-2018. He is survived by their 2 children: Randall DuBois (and his wife Ann) - De Pere, and Sherry Amborn (and her husband Eric) - Green Bay, his sister: Marie Schweiner, and his brother: James DuBois and his wife Nancy.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Henry DuBois Jr., Harold DuBois, Gerald DuBois, Linda DuBois and Carol Ratajczak.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1450 Swan Rd., De Pere, WI. There will be a visitation from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm. If unable to attend in person, a zoom option is available.

My deepest sympathies to Randy, Sherry and their families. Time may take cousins in different directions, but we are connected by heart and memories. My memories of Uncle Dick and Auntie Anna are of gatherings at their home in our growing up years, and Grandma Peer´s farm. My sisters and I remember a family camping trip to Jellystone Park. I may surprise you with pictures one day, cousins. There is sadness in life chapters closure, but celebration in knowing that your parents´ love lives on in heaven and in you. Thinking of you and sending love and prayers.

I remember Richard and Anne, having book study at their house on Pleasant Way in Seymour, way back when I was just a teenager... They(he) has always been such a wonderful example to me from youth on . They raised really great kids too. ~Renae Parker

When our families were traveling to Canada for an International Convention and I was riding with DuBois´, we got separated from the rest of the caravan (in the days before cellphones). It took some hours but we finally arrived safely at the campground with the rest of our group. How great is it that I wasn´t afraid and neither was my family for me as we knew the DuBois family would take care of me until we all met up together again?!
