Richard ("Rick") Thomas Durham died on March 1, 2018, at the age of 80, in a nursing home, in Oswego, IL, from complications arising from COPD and cancer. He was born on March 10, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to Leighton L. and Mary (n?e Philbin) Durham, both of whom predeceased him. Rick also was predeceased by his older brothers, Leighton, Jr. ("Junior") and Arthur ("Art"), and by his younger brothers, Robert ("Bob") and Terrance ("Terry"). His sisters, Mary Leigh Bentley and Linda Tancos, survive him.

Rick is survived by his five children of his first marriage to Diana E. Flores (maiden name), which marriage ended in divorce: Diana C. ("Dee Dee") Durham, of Palm Desert, CA, Faith M. Durham, of North Carolina, Hope T. Stoetzer (Rick) of Gainesville, Florida, Daniel W. Durham, of North Carolina and Deborah A. Reau (Donnie) of Michigan. Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

Rick was married a second time to Oralee Wilson (maiden name), who survived him, but who subsequently died, on July 19, 2022.

Rick was a proud Journeyman electrician, and a member of IBEW Local 134, in Chicago. He attended St. Laurence Catholic grammar school, on the western edge of Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, and Chicago Vocational High School. Rick was an avid fisherman and duck hunter, and he also enjoyed racoon hunting, with his hound dog, Lou, in his younger days.
