Richard Paul Foley
June 11, 1946- December 17, 2020
Richard Paul Foley,74, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania passed away in Carlisle at UPMC Carlisle Hospital on December 17, 2020.
Richard (Dick) was born on June 11, 1946, to Thomas and Veronica (Paul) Foley in Brockton, Massachusetts.
After graduating from Braintree High School, he enlisted in the military and served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1992, during which he attained an MBA. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after truly enjoying serving his country.
Dick was known to be an avid competitive golfer who everyone enjoyed being on the greens with.
The best part of his life was sharing 52 years of
marriage with the love of his life, Lorraine (Fiorentino) Foley, with whom he enjoyed a lively social life among their closest of friends and family. His greatest happiness in life was his daughter, Gina, and he cherished his three grandchildren. Capturing who he was or how admired he was and will remain is impossible. He exuded positivity, brightness, compassion, love, as well as genuineness and was known for his sense of humor and wit.
Richard is preceded by his parents Thomas and Veronica. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Foley, his daughter Gina Cotter, and grandchildren Ethan, Amber, and Aaron. Sisters Paulette Falco, Patricia Prario, and Martha Anderson, nieces and nephews, as well as many other beloved family and friends.

Dick was truly a unique and loveable individual. He was my cart-mate for years of golf. A man who truly cared about others, and one who took the time to tell them. My heart is broken and I will miss him until the day I leave this world. Dick related, in many ways, the way he conducted his life as to how he played the game of golf. He played at a high level and lived his life in the same manner. A gentlemen in life and on the course. Good bye dear friend.

Col. Foley,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USAF during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen and women stood ready to defend our Country. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My deepest sympathies are with the family during this difficult time. I have many fond memories of the good times we shared on the golf course, the numerous dollar bets, and his quick wit. Rest In Peace my friend.
