Richard K. Gregory

Richard K. Gregory, April 28, 1930 June 25, 2003. Isaiah 40: 31, 'But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' Beloved husband, father and grandfather entered into his Heavenly Rest on June 25, 2003. Richard was born in Chicago on April 28, 1930 to Josephine and Kasmir Gregory. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Janet; children, Judy (Jim) Gleason, Robert (Cindy) Gregory, Sandra (T.J.) Faust and Susan (Ronnie) Andrade; grandchildren, Steven, Ricky, Robbie, Melissa, Eric, Amanda, Gabriel and Christina; sister, Irene Krupa of Sarasota, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane and granddaughter, Megan. Richard was an example of Christian love and was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, The Equestrian Order of the Holy Seplecur, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; and Alhambra, Carmelite Order of the Little Flower. Richard started his career in the grocery industry at the age of 14, working his way up from a stock boy in Chicago and after a long successful career retired from HEB as Vice President of Pantry Marketing. He was known as one of the most knowledgeable people in the grocery industry and mentored many people during his career. He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years. While in military service, he met Janet Whelan who was also serving in the Air Force Nurse Corps. They married one year later. Richard will be deeply missed by his family, having provided them with a loving home and deep faith. A Rosary will be recited Friday, June 27, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 9:30 A.M., also at St. Peter's. The family wishes in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, Children's Inn of Boerne, or to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Pallbearers are Ricky Gleason, Robbie Gleason, Steven Faust, Jim Gleason, Eric Faust, Melissa Behle, T.J. Faust and Ronnie Andrade.
