Richard Gunniers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2025.
Richard Gunniers, 84, passed on September 6th, 2025, just 15 days shy of his 85th birthday. He was a giving, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Richard had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy to everyone around him, and he used it generously. He shared his faith with everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Gunniers, his daughter Karen Hysong and her family Nathan and Devin Hysong. Valerie, Quentyn, Vanessa, Xena, Zaccheaus, Ezekiel, and Azaliah. Sarah Hysong and Kaylyn, Rebecca Hysong and Izzalana. His son Michael Gunniers and his wife Jill their sons, Austin and his wife Sherry, Ryan and his wife Lindsey, and Brandon. His sister Velma and his brother Ronald also survive him. His sisters with Jesus Audrey, Sylvia and Vera Kay.

We have Henry Lane his brother in law, and his friend that helped till the end Oscar Eddy plus so many family and friends who knew his kindness, and humor- will carry forward the warmth he shared so freely.

Richards legacy is simple and strong...Honor God, love your people, show up for others and leave every room lighter than you found it, but most of all love everyone as God loves us

My love and prayers to all of you. It´s hard to lose a loved one but the consolation is that he has achieved his heavenly reward. His unending faith surely carried him to the pearly gates for admission. He now joins his sisters who I´m sure were waiting with open arms. God takes care of his children and I´m sure he is taking care of Uncle Rich now.Til we meet again

First I wish to offer my sincerest condolences to Aunt Darlene and the entire Family. The greatest memory of Uncle Rich was his ability to make us smile. Thinking of him now would typically be a sad moment without him ... but somehow I know he is helping me to smile again. I offer two of my recent pics to remind us of God's glory know Uncle Rich is smiling too.
