Richard Hackett Obituary
Born in Staten Island, NY, Richard went to Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia at age 10, joining the U.S. Air Force after graduation during WWII. He flew 30 missions over Germany as a B-17 navigator, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. In 1945, he joined Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant and in 1947 met his wife, Elizabeth Markey of NC, also a flight attendant, marrying her in 1948. In 1954, his only child, Pollie Chase Hackett Petrosso was born. In 1985, he retired from Eastern Airlines as a Base Manager after living in New Orleans, New York, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Boston.
Visitation and memorial services will be held Saturday, July 23rd from 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in the WILBUR-ROMANO Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren. www.wilbur-romano.com

I was a Eastern Airlines Flight Attendant based in San Juan during the 1970's, and Mr. Hackett was our Base Manager. He was always very nice and a mellow guy with a sense of humor. God bless Him.
