Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Florence, S.C. Burial with full military honors will follow in Florence National Cemetery.
He was born at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, S.C., a son of Darlene Besse Hanna and the late William D. Hanna. He was a specialist in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He served 15 months in Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also a Cavalry Scout and assisted law enforcement following Hurricane Katrina.
Survivors, in addition to his mother of Worcester, Mass., include his wife, Amanda Berg Hanna, stationed in Hawaii; a brother, William D. Hanna II of Knoxville, Tenn.; four sisters, Deadre Hanna, Brenda Hanna, Becky Hanna and Addrienne H. Highsmith, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his grandmother, Esther Trainor of Warwick, R.I.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

My heart was broken to read about the loss of your son. I lost my son five years ago. He was in the army in Kileen. Put your trust and faith in God. He can see you through this. I'm sure his memory will forever live in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
