Harbison

Rockhill - Richard S. Harbison, age 74, of Rockhill New York, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Richard was born December 24, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the son of the late Lawrence and the late Irene (McCarthy) Harbison.

Richard served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. Richard was a graduate from Freeport High School in 1958, a Graduate of Penn Technical Institute in 1962 and a Graduate of Marist College with a degree in Physics in 1972. He was employed by IBM East Fishkill as an Engineer. Richard also worked at Carnegie Inst. in Saxonburg PA, International Sematech in Austin Texas and Hudson Valley Tech Center in Newburgh New York.

Richard was a member of Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club, he loved hunting, fishing and coin collecting.

He is survived by daughter and son In-law, Laurie and Chris Scaringe of Wappingers Falls, NY; daughter and son In-law, Sandy and Rob Spero of Poughkeepsie, NY; grandchildren, Christopher, Sofia and Juliana Scaringe, Michael and Jake Spero. and his loving former wife of over 37 years Lynne Harbison of Wappingers Falls, NY. Richard was predeceased by his brother Gerald E. Harbison and his sister Katherine E. Langley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Columba Church, Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. Burial will be Private and at a later date.

Girls I am so sorry for your lost. I had not seen your dad in many years but I often think of him. My son is an avid hunter and reminds of the many memmories I have of your dad and your family. I still every christmas remember some of my best christmas eves were spent at your house. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain, just remember the good times.
