Richard Hicks Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2025.
Richard (Rick) Hicks, 72, of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully in his home on August 22, 2025. Born on April 16, 1953, in Fresno, Rick spent nearly his entire life in the community he loved.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Rick enjoyed camping, sitting on his back porch, and sharing a cold beer with his lifelong friends from Boy Scouts. In earlier years, he loved to draw, and throughout his life he filled his days with music-turning the volume up on his favorite Jethro Tull records. Rick's humor was quick and clever, and his fondness for puns made those around him laugh and groan in equal measure. He rarely missed a crossword puzzle and found joy in the simple, everyday moments spent with his family.

Rick is survived by his wife, Denise; his daughters, Rebecca (Emma) Hicks and Connie (Chris) Stockdale; and his older brother, Sonny (Kathy) Hicks.

Rick will be remembered for his warmth, wit, and the deep love he carried for those closest to him. His family and friends will cherish the countless memories of laughter, music, and time spent together. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rick's memory to Scouting America, an organization that brought him lifelong friendships and joy (https://donations.scouting.org/).
