Richard Holmes Obituary
Ricci attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR where he played Division I baseball and graduated with a B.S. of Education in 1982. While attending Arkansas State, he met Andrea Konieczny and they married on August 8, 1981, in Benton, Arkansas.
Shortly after, in March of 1983 Ricci joined the USAF. He was stationed at Pope AFB, N.C., from March 1983 – January 1985, Bitburg AFB, Germany from February 1985 – August 1992 during which he was a veteran of the First Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm. He began his Civil Service career at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho as the Fitness Center Director "The House that Mr. Holmes Built" from September 1992 until his passing.
In his spare-time, Ricci enjoyed fishing, golf, baseball, camping, woodworking and loving on his granddaughters.
Ricci is survived by his wife, Andrea Holmes of Meridian, Idaho; daughter, Karen Corn (Steven) of Boise, Idaho; son, Brian Holmes (Morgan) of Boise, Idaho; granddaughters, Everly and Emilia (Emmy) Corn; mother, Gaylia Holmes of Dover, AR; brothers, Ken Holmes (Rhonda) of Dover, AR; David Holmes (Debbie) of Sheridan, AR; Tim Holmes (Sherri) of Hot Springs, AR; and many nephews and nieces.
Ricci is preceded in death by his father, James Everett Holmes retired USAF of Jacksonville, AR.
In lieu of flowers, please consider an annual $17 sponsorship with Wreaths Across America, a non-profit that places more than 6,000 fresh balsam wreaths on veteran headstones each December at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
A committal service will be held, 11:00 am, Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho.
Services will be officiated by Ken Holmes.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 12pm – 3pm at The River Club (Plantation Golf Course), 6515 W. State St., Garden City, ID, 83714
