Richard Clarence Hyatt (Dick) of Davison, age 95, died Friday September 9, 2022 at Ascension-Genesys Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private burial on the family plot in Flint Memorial Park will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in Richard’s name to the charity of your choice.
Richard was born in Flint Michigan on June 14, 1927 the son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Butts) Hyatt and has resided in the Davison area for a total of more than 30 years, and also maintained a vacation home at Rose Lake that he and the family has enjoyed for numerous years. He was joined in marriage to Christina Jean Marlett on November 14, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2020. Answering the call of his country Dick proudly served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School, and a member of Troy Elks Lodge 2169. Dick had a very long and successful career as a supervisor for Consumers Energy and promotions within the company took him and his family around the state to live in Flint, Grand Blanc, Rochester, Jackson, Davison, Traverse City and then back to Davison for retirement to be near his family. Dick loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He treasured the time he spent in Newberry, MI at the hunting cabin along with his dad, brothers and dear friend JW Hitt where they built their cabin, remodeled their cabin many times and spent over sixty years hunting, laughing and playing music together.
Surviving is son Bryce and wife Joyce Hyatt, and daughter Tena and husband Kevin Czap. He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Lauren (Marc) O’Keefe, Lindsay Czap, Justin (Shelby) Hyatt, Jarrett (Brooke) Hyatt, and great grandchildren: Morgan Hyatt, Casen Hyatt, Preston Hyatt, Jayden Hyatt, Khylie Hyatt, Ella Hyatt, Levi Hyatt, Emmett O’Keefe, and Elliott O’Keefe. He also is survived by brothers; Norris (Sue) Hyatt, Harland (Joy) Hyatt, sisters; Elaine Rose, Nancy Leach, Connie Marx, and a host of extended family. He is preceded in death by sisters: Joyce Savage, Janet Beyer, and Sharon Tichenor. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net

Dick and Tina were wonderful clients,both had great sense of humor. love their family very much,love to talk about them. Very proud of them all. I enjoyed talking politics with dick. Two great people . Miss them.
