Arliss. Dick was a mentor to most of us at HPD, he did it with out hesitation, or promise of reward. But most of all to me he was my friend, and let me be his. You and Dick will remain in my prayers.

As a policeman and a friend, Dick's kindness, thoughtfulness and sense of humor touched more people than can be counted or remembered. His loyalty to his beliefs and his family, especially Arliss, are things that all of his friends noticed and are remembering about him now. In many ways Dick touched us all. We would all be a lot better off if we could find a little bit of Dick in each of us. Arliss and family, we hope that you know how much we all love Dick and you. Our sincere sympathy.

As a young Hollywood Police Cadet and later as Officer, I worked for Dick. I remember what a big guy he was and with an even bigger laugh. He was an intelligent man very deserving of his accomplishments. I was fortunate to know him in two areas of his life; Law Enforcement & Masonic. He was responsable and looked after many giving kind advice as needed. Though I left Hollywood after 8 years for a 25 year career with Miami-Dade PD, I never forgot those friends I had made in Hollywood and Dick stands out among them.

Alas My Brother.

My deepest sympathy from Mark Tinnirella.
I cherished the time I spent with Dick, both on and off duty. Even in the most trying times on the job, I never ever saw Dick get flustered, angry, or upset. He was an exceptional role model, not just for the younger Officers, but for the community as well. RIP brother, until we meet again. Love, Mark Tinnirella
