Richard Carl Ide, 89, of Dallas, passed away peacefully Friday, May 14, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Idetown on June 12, 1931.
He retired from Air Products and Chemicals after 36 years and was an active member of Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church. Richard was fortunate to enjoy 25-plus years of retirement, golfing and spending winters in Florida with his beloved wife, Lois Garringer Ide, who preceded him in death on June 15, 2019.
In addition to his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, David and Hope Ide; sisters, Ethel Mims and Jean Brink; brothers, Bruce and Harold; and grandchildren, Kiersten Cerveny and Brandon Case.
Richard is survived by his brother, Glenn (Vickie) Ide; children, Dianne (Robert) Rickenbach; Richard (Virginia) Ide; Gary (Hildy) Ide; Donna (Paul) Zbiek; and Teri (John) Whitehead, with whom he resided for the past year. In addition, Richard was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, 1011 Mountain View Drive, Lehman, with the Rev. John Whitehead, pastor, and the Rev. Laura Kyler officiating. Masks will be required in the church.
Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., state Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, PO Box 12, Lehman, PA 18627.

I knew Richard from occasional meetings during
visits to my parents' Idetown Cemetery gravesite.
Nonetheless, I am sorry to learn of his passing.
