I was a childhood friend of Richard as he lived across the street from me in Barnwell, SC, as did his late grandfather, Edgar Brown and his wife, Annie, his father, Dick Jeffries and mother, Emily Jeffries. They were a huge part of my childhood and I have many memories of the whole family. This is such a sad day. While Richard, Edgar, Annie, Dick, and Emily are gone, they still live in the memories of my childhood in Barnwell. Never to be forgotten. Rest in peace, Richard Jeffries.

Sister, I am heartbroken for you. Richard is in a better place now but I know how much you will miss him. My prayers to all family and friends and especially to his daughter, Annie Love and his grandchildren. She was the apple of his eye. His eyes twinkled when he talked of her to me. I hope you can all find peace during this time. Love you my dear friend!!

Even though you chased me walking home from elementary school and tried to choke me every day, LOL, you were always a great friend. You had a big heart underneath all that craziness. Heaven has gained an angel and I know Deb greeted you with open arms as did Brown. Rest easy my friend.

I´m saddened to learn of Richard´s passing. My condolences to daughter Annie Love, to his sister Emily Jefferies, and to the family. Richard´s mother Emily Brown Jefferies and my mother Vera Boulware Hart were best friends growing up in Barnwell starting in the late 1920´s.
