Richard Jensen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 6 to Jul. 8, 2023.
Richard Dale Jensen, known to his loved ones as Ric, passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 68, in Johnson City, TN, USA. Born on July 10, 1954, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, Ric's life was filled with passion, talent, and deep contemplation.

Ric moved a lot during childhood due to his father's Air Force career. After his family settled in Brigham City, Utah, Ric dedicated three years of his life to serving in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his willingness to protect and defend. Following his military service, Ric pursued a career in music and construction. He worked meticulously as a construction finisher carpenter to complete projects correctly.

Ric was a gifted musician who shared his love for music by playing bass and guitar in various bands and jamming with friends. His musical talent resonated through his involvement with bands such as the Ajax Family Band and Cheap Sneakers in Tampa, Florida. Ric touched the hearts of many as he shared his talent to build and support his community.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Ric had a deep appreciation for nature and cherished spending time with his beloved cats and dogs. He had a thoughtful and frugal approach to life, valuing cleanliness and preparedness. These qualities were a testament to his introspective nature and ability to find joy in simplicity.

In his personal life, Ric is survived by his loving spouse of more than thirty years, Sophia K. Locklear-Jensen. She swears he was the best husband, fur father, and brother ANYWHERE EVER!!! Ric was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Carter Jensen, and his father, Billy N. Jensen, of Brigham City, Utah.

Ric's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his musical talent, love for nature, and thoughtful approach to life. His legacy will live on through the melodies he strummed, the renovation projects he completed, and the memories created through his associations. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The family thanks the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton, TN, for caring for Ric's body and providing his cremation services.
