Richard Klein Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 22, 2024.
In loving memory of Richard J. Klein, who passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 90, following a long battle with dementia.

Richard was born in Valhalla, New York, in 1934 to the late Hilda and Joseph Klein. He was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara Ray and Philip Klein, and is now reunited with them.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Anna Klein, and their three children: Michael Klein (Lori) of Chester, CT; Timothy Klein of Higganum, CT; and Deborah Klein Meihls (Richard) of New Smyrna Beach, FL. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Joshua Klein, Jeremy Klein, Brian Klein, Haleigh Klein, predeceased Chelsea Klein. Richard cherished his family deeply and took great pride in the close bond shared by his children.

A proud patriot and U.S. Army veteran, Richard displayed his love for his country every day. He found joy in the great outdoors through hunting, fishing, and boating. An avid collector with a keen eye for antiques and collectibles, he enjoyed buying, trading, and selling treasures throughout his life.

Richard had a special fondness for golden retrievers and could often be found sitting on his back deck listening to country music. He will be remembered as an honest and proud man who found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life and the love of his family.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

I knew Rich through his kids and around town he always had a willing hand shake. and a twinkle in the eyes ! I didn't know him in his later years and am very sad to hear of the dementia, it steals your memories/youth and is the cruelest of all human diseases. I wish healing and peace for all Rich's family and friends for he is at peace now. T

Rich and i were 2 peas in a pod. We were dump divers and shared an amazing bond over antiques. He was a true hero of mine.
