Richard LaBorde Obituary
Born on May 19, 1944 in Sykesville, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Lucena (Dixon) LaBorde.
On January 9, 1965, he married his wife of 57 years, Juanita (Plumley) LaBorde. She survives.
Rich retired from DuPont/Berg Electronics after 27 years of service.
He was a longtime president of the Sykesville Memorial Cemetery Association and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Rich enjoyed working in his garage and loved going to his camp. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Rich is survived by his children (Deborah Herrlich & her husband Chris of Sykesville, PA, Sherry Pruzinsky & her husband Tim of Sykesville, PA, Janet Baka & her significant other Jeff Huber of Brockway, PA and Karen LaBorde & her fiancé Scott Reinard of Punxsutawney, PA), 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 1 sister (Gertrude Yohe of Ceres, NY) and 1 brother (Walter J. "Jim" LaBorde & his wife Jane of Sykesville, PA).
He was preceded in death by 1 great granddaughter (Katrina Barnett), 1 brother (Robert LaBorde) and 1 son-in-law (Thomas Baka).
There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery.
